The short version

Pixel Hollow is a single-player game that saves to your device. There are no accounts, no game server, no analytics and no advertising. The one exception is optional: if you allow it, the game uses your approximate location to match its sunrise, sunset and weather to the real sky where you are.

What we collect

Nothing. Throttle Mountain doesn't receive any data from the app. Specifically:

Location and weather (optional)

When you first enter a world, iOS asks whether Pixel Hollow may use your location while you're playing. The game only asks for approximate location (about one kilometer) and uses it for two things:

Your most recent approximate location is kept on your device so the next launch has the right sun times. It isn't sent to us or to anyone other than Apple's weather service. If you decline, the game uses a default sky and plays exactly the same otherwise. You can change your choice any time in the iOS Settings app under Pixel Hollow → Location.

What's stored on your device

Pixel Hollow saves your world and progress to the app's local storage. That includes your world seed, position, pouch and gear, map, journal, achievements and settings. Deleting the app deletes this data. Your device's own backups (iCloud Backup or a computer backup) may include it, according to your backup settings.

Children's privacy

Pixel Hollow has no chat, ads, analytics, or ways to share with other players, and it doesn't collect personal information from anyone, including children. The optional location use described above works the same for every player and can be declined.

Third-party services

The app includes no third-party SDKs. Weather data comes from Apple WeatherKit. The App Store listing and downloads are handled by Apple. Both are covered by Apple's privacy policy.

Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices change, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
