What devices does Pixel Hollow run on?
iPhone and iPad running iOS 26 or later. The game plays in portrait.
Is there an Android version?
No, and we're not planning one. Pixel Hollow is built natively for iOS with Swift 6 and SpriteKit.
Do I need an account or an internet connection?
No. There are no accounts, and the game plays fully offline. The only thing that uses the internet is the optional live weather. See the next question.
Why does Pixel Hollow ask for my location?
So the game's sky matches yours: real sunrise and sunset times, plus rain or snow when it's raining or snowing where you are. It only asks for a rough location (about a kilometer), and only while you're playing. If you say no, the game uses a pleasant default sky and everything else works the same. You can change this any time in the iOS Settings app under Pixel Hollow → Location.
How do I save the game?
You don't have to, because it saves on its own. Your world, pouch, gear, map and journal are kept on your device. Close the app and you'll pick up right where you left off.
How do I start a new world?
From the title screen, tap New World. A new world replaces the one you're playing, so the game checks with you first. Every world grows from a seed, and the same seed always grows the same world.
How do I move around?
By default you tap where you want to go and your frog walks there. If you'd rather steer, open Settings from the pause menu and switch to drag mode, which gives you a joystick under your finger. Pinch to zoom in and out.
How do I dig up treasure?
First craft a shovel from the hammer menu. When you're standing near buried treasure, a Dig button shows up. Tap it and stay put until the digging is done, because taking a step cancels it. Then tap Open.
How do I pause the game?
The pause button is in the top-left of the screen. The game also pauses by itself when you switch apps or lock your phone.
